The Altra Vanish Tempo is a non-carbon-plate racing shoe with a very similar construction to its carbon plate parent, the Vanish Carbon.

As with its parent, you'll find top-of-the-line materials like an EVA-foam outsole, a TPE footbed ('EGO™ PRO'), a minimalist upper to reduce weight (except for a high and sturdy heel collar), and a non-stretch padded tongue.

And, since the Vanish Tempo is an Altra shoe, you know it features zero drop heel-to-toe geometry (which Altra now calls "balanced cushioning") and an open toe box.

Serious runners who are looking for a non-carbon-plate racing shoe in a zero drop format should give the Tempo serious consideration.
